OUR STORY

For more than half a century, Wright Pastoral has had an obsession with genetics, breeding and feeding cattle. Glen’s father, Colin, who ran a stud dairy and beef cattle operation on the Darling Downs, introduced artificial insemination and the sourcing of global cattle genetics to improve herd performance, phenotype and overall breeding outcomes throughout the 1980s and 1990s. This also led to ensuring the business was at the forefront of silage production, rotational grazing and herd health.

In 2012, Glen and Juliette Wright established Wright Pastoral, which is now the custodian of seven strategically located properties across New South Wales. Their vision was to build a world-class Wagyu business founded on progressive genetics, responsible land stewardship and long-term sustainability. Today, our aim is to always be in Australia’s top 1% of Wagyu producers for high-marbling Wagyu beef.

Our Founders

Wright Pastoral is extremely proud of its rich Australian history. They are excited to maintain the Wright family legacy of caring for a unique landscape, while continuing to breed, background and produce quality, high-marbling Wagyu Beef for consumers across Australia and around the World.

Our History

Historic photo. Two children and two adults with horses inside a rustic horse stable made of wood and corrugated metal, surrounded by a wooden fence.

The families history in paddock to plate dates back to the early 1900’s with a slaughter yard and the opening of ahern and O’Grady.

Today, the Wright Pastoral business is the custodian of seven properties geographically spread across New South Wales for a strategic natural advantage. Our aim is always to be in Australia’s top 1% of Wagyu producers for producing high-marbling Wagyu Beef.
